After graduating I attended Iowa Central Community College. I became a Registered Nurse in 1983. I got married to my current husband, Bill in 1986. I have lived in Gilbert, Arizona for the past 19 years. My nursing specialty is Behavioral Health and Chemical Dependency. I currently work as a triage nurse on a suicide hotline. I enjoy talking, helping others, laughing, dancing, horseback riding, gardening and mixed martial arts to name a few. I have few regrets, especially now that I am a cancer thriver. March of 2004 I had a mastectomy. My cancer was a stage 2, thank God there were no positive lymph nodes. After my initial shock and terror. I decided I had a choice to accept the situation or be angry. I decided I wanted to make the best of the situation. God and I had a heart to heart talk and I knew I would survive. There are no words to describe the peace of the Lord. Had it not been for the cancer I would still be a depressed couch potato. Now, I laugh more and complain less.
