Tom O'Leary VIEW PROFILE

Thomas J. O'Leary, 51, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Monday August 20th, 2012 at Trinity Regional Medical Center. The Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home is serving the family.

Survivors include his wife, Chris of Fort Dodge; sons, Ryan O’Leary of Fort Dodge; Joe O’Leary of Cedar Falls; daughter, Erin O’Leary of Fort Dodge; parents, Betsy and Ed O’Leary of Fort Dodge; mother-in-law, Cheryl Kearney of Coalville; sisters, Debbie (Randy) Bauer of Granger; Julie (Marc) Solnet of Highland Ranch, CO; brother, Sean O’Leary of Naperville, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Helen O’Leary and Joseph and Rachel Drzycimski; and his father-in-law, Eugene Kearney. Thomas Joseph O’Leary was born on January 24, 1961 in Fort Dodge. He attended schools here and graduated from St. Edmond High School in 1980. Tom then attended Iowa Central Community College, followed by the University of Iowa, and graduated from Buena Vista College in Fort Dodge with his B.S. Degree in Business. On September 1, 1984 he was united in marriage to Chris Kearney in Coalville and they made their home in Fort Dodge. For over 20 years Tom worked for Farner-Bocken in shipping and receiving; then worked at the Fort Dodge Labs in the finishing department until 2011. Tom truly enjoyed working the concession stands during all the Fort Dodge Senior High Athletic Events and proud member of the Fort Dodge Athletic Boosters Club. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Fan and all around sports fan. Most of all Tom loved spending time with his family.
